On January 21st, 2024, the U.S. Postal Service will be making big changes to their shipping prices according to CBS 42.
USPS announced these changes on November 15th. Many people will be upset to hear that the shipping prices are all increasing significantly.
Stating January 21st, 2024, the following changes to shipping prices will be made: an increase of 5.4% for USPS Ground Advantage prices, 5.7% for Priority Mail service prices, and 5.9% for Priority Mail Express service prices.
In a release USPS stated “The Postal Service has upfront pricing and does not add surcharges for residential and regular Saturday delivery, nor fuel,” as reasoning for the price increase.
USPS is also currently looking at changing prices for products like international mail services and post office box rentals. These price changes will soon be reviewed by the Postal Regulatory Commission.
The pricing for USPS local next-day and same-day delivery for businesses will be staying the same. Around 98% of individuals in the U.S. get their package within three days from USPS.
