Disney Is Currently Creating A ‘Storyliving’ Community In North Carolina
Disney is currently in the process of building its second-ever residential community in the US and it’s happening in North Carolina. According to Queen City News, Disney is currently creating a ‘storyliving’ community in North Carolina
Storyliving by Disney announced their plans on Wednesday for the community they’re calling Asteria. Asteria is a residential community created by the Preston Development Company. It will be located in Chatham County. The homes are all within a larger “master-planned” community development that will happen in Chatham Park.
Julian “Bubba” Rawl co-founded Preston Development Company with Tim Smith.
Rawl said “For nearly 15 years, Chatham Park has set the standard for innovative growth and thoughtful planning. We feel an extraordinary sense of responsibility to our residents and the broader community with this project, and we’re incredibly fortunate to work with Disney, DMB Development, and homebuilders to create something truly special.”
The first Storyliving community that Disney created called Cotino is located in Rancho Mirage, California. Cotino is already under development and has potential buyers already set for their pre-sales appointments. Disney is still looking for more locations for their Storyliving communities
Asteria is currently planned to have 1,500 acres located in Pittsboro and will have over 4,000 units. The homes will come in many different styles for single families, multiple families, and of course adults over 55.
One of the main focuses of the community is green space which will be done in a way to showcase the area’s natural beauty. Developers currently plan on creating huge parks and miles worth of walking and biking trails.
Asteria will also have swimming pools, sports courts, a wellness and recreation center, restaurants, a community garden, and a large outdoor space for games and events.
So how about a theme park? No word on that yet. But you never know what could happen.
