BIG On Homes: A New Coat Of Paint Can Help A Lot!
I’m horrible at painting, from the taping, to the waiting for it to dry, and even the first step of prepping. But it can be a simple fix that can really change the look of your home. Not only does it update the look of the home, but it also makes it look cleaner with no marks on the walls and the fresh paint. You gotta start by picking out the color though.
I can honestly say, I’m horrible when it comes to matching colors. I’m even worse at making a decision like picking a paint color, but thanks to a good friend, I’ve learned a new way to make it a little easier. And when it comes to painting your house, anything that can make it easier is welcome.
1. Get Inspiration Off The Web. – If i’m painting a bathroom, I’ll google “Grey Tile, White Vanity, What color walls” and then look through pictures. You’ll be surprised what you can find!
2. Hit The Paint Store– take your ideas and see what they look like on paint swatches
3.Buy Some Samples– take the samples home and pain them in different places around the room and area your going to paint. This will help you see in different lighting how it will look. Just don’t forget which is which!
4. Decide and Buy- get your friends and families input, then decide which you want to buy. Just make sure you buy a little extra, over not enough. You never want to run out and worry about trying to match it halfway through the room.
From here you can either pay someone else to paint it or do it yourself. I personally always pay someone else, just because I don’t have the patience. Either way, hope ya love your new color!
