Goodbye Best Friend, Thank You..
One of the most unfair things about life is the fact that our pups only live so short. I’ve said this so many times as I watch friends deal with loosing their pup, but now, I’m dealing with it.Bo The Bulldog was one of a kind, one like no other. He loved. But not just sometimes, he loved all the time and everyone. Sometimes too much! Especially if his hair drove you crazy. But no matter what he was always happy to see everyone and he knew everyone was his best friend. He was the kinda dog that you bragged about. There wasn’t a mean bone in his body.
Unfortunately over the years my work schedule kept me away from home more then I liked. Between traveling and just long work days, Bo would sit at home alone and I felt horrible about it. So I asked two friends who were watching him when I was out of town, if they would like to take Bo full time. It was hard saying goodbye to my buddy. A pup who was there to comfort me through Loss, Heartbreak, Bad Situations, and more, but also there to celebrate with me when we bought our first house, or lived on the lake and more. But I knew it was best for him. My friends were home a lot more then I was at the time and they already grew very attached to him.
Though I had to let him go, I still missed him like crazy. Though I wouldn’t get to see him much because it hurt, I would still see him time to time and you could tell he remembered me. That little tail would wag and his butt would go back an forth. We would have a minute and I’d tell him to take good care of his new family. They recently welcomed a new baby girl into the world, and as Bo would, he hung around to be there for them even if he had an idea his time was short.
Yesterday I got the call I dread for years that Bo had passed. He was 10 years old which is pretty old for a bulldog. My friend was in tears as he told me, and after I hung up I was as well. He will always be remembered by the pictures, by the memories, and the love he showed us.
Goodbye Old Friend, and Thank You. Love you Bo
