Brantley Gilbert: Will His Opening Acts Join Him On Stage?
Brantley Gilbert kicks off his “Not Like Us Tour” on August 22, with Michael Ray and Lindsay Ell as his openers. A lot of headliners get their openers back on stage as the show ends to sing a song all together, but Brantley isn’t so sure he will do that.
Although Brantley says that’s something he, Michael and Lindsay have been talking about, “I think we will wait till we get out there and kind of see how everybody’s shows flowin’ and kind of see if there’s anything that’s already in my set. I’d like for them to be as much a part of the decision as I am. I think it just comes across a lot cooler that way.”
Gilbert says he doesn’t want to force anything, “You know, I don’t want to pick, ‘All right, y’all come out on ‘Small Town Throw Down,’ and maybe Michael or Lindsay, one goin’, ‘I hate that song.’ I don’t know if that’s the case, but it’s a possibility. I’ve done some on stage with folks that weren’t my favorite, but I want all of us to be a part of that process. I think it’ll be a cooler idea if it’s something that comes out organically while we’re out and we’re reading the vibes of these folks. So, we’ll have some fun with it.”
It is likely that Lindsay will join Brantley every night on stage during the “Not Like Us Tour” to perform their current single, “What Happens in a Small Town.”
