Magical Well Outside of this US City said to Cure Everything from Headaches to Cancer
It may not be the Fountain of Youth, but it may be close. A water well in this suburban neighborhood is being touted as having magical health benefits. Which US city do you have to visit to test it out?
Located in Schiller Woods, a neighborhood of Chicago, has a water well that has been drawing scores of visitors. The visitors have been lining up with empty bottles every day for the better part of 10 years. Regular visitors say drinking the special water has cured them of a variety of ailments, ranging from headaches to cancer. Nick Karapournos, swears he’s grown 10 years younger since he began making frequent visits to the well.
While Cook County Forest Preserves officials stop short of confirming the well’s miraculous properties, they say the water is clean and drinkable. “Due to this specific pump’s popularity, the Forest Preserves tests its water quarterly,” communications director Carl Vogel says. “We are always happy to see that an amenity in the Forest Preserves is enjoyed and popular with residents.”
Are these “miracles” the result of the placebo effect?
