Cody Johnson Nominated for New Artist of the Year at CMA Awards
Cody Johnson has been performing music for over 13 years, so his nomination for “New Artist of the Year” at this years’ CMA Awards came as a surprise.
“I didn’t know how to feel, honestly, because it was the new artist category, for a guy that’s been on the road for 13 years, I was like, ‘This is kind of weird!'”
Johnson and his wife, Brandi attended the CMA Awards in 2018 as spectators but Cody admits that this year if he has to give an acceptance speech he’s a little worried. “I will be surprised to see what comes out of my mouth…I hope I don’t say anything dumb,” says Johnson.
Ashley McBryde, Midland, Carly Pearce, and Morgan Wallen are also up for the “New Artist of the Year” award.
