Concord Police & Cabarrus County Sheriffs Take Local Children Christmas Shopping
This past weekend more then 40 kids got the chance to race around the local Walmart trying to find the perfect gifts with the help of a local officer. The children were all given $250 to spend as they pleased. Each kid had the help of a Cabarrus County Sheriff or a Concord Police officer. Some kids went for electronics while others chose toys. But either way every kid left with a smile.
The event, put on by the North Carolina Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 64, has been taking kids shopping for the past few years. These kids may have homes with parents missing due to incarceration or they may have passed away. Either way, the local police want to make sure they are all remembered this Christmas.
Pretty awesome to see how the cops are helping those in need, and going above and beyond their call of duty.
