Paralyzed Charleston Man Completes Marathon, Breaks World Record
Gorlitsky was involved in a car accident 15 years ago leaving him paralyzed, but that does not stop him from doing what he loves.
Adam Gorlitsky completed the Charleston Marathon on Saturday in 33 hours, 50 minutes and 24 seconds, taking the Guinness World Record for the exoskeleton marathon by 3 hours, according to WCIV.
Previously, he became the first paralyzed man to walk the Cooper River Bridge Run using a ReWalk robotic exoskeleton. The race encouraged Gorlitsky to help others complete the same feat as he did. It was on the same day he created I GOT LEGS which is a non-profit organization dedicated to ReEnabling athletes with physical challenges by providing opportunities, programs, and grants that unlock an improved quality of life. Way to go, Adam!
