Woman Protests Face-masks By Wearing Bikini Made Of Face-masks To Trader Joe’s
A woman in Los Angeles is taking the fight against mandatory lockdown into her own hands. DaVida Sal, a performance artist, decided to wear a bikini made of nothing but masks and standing in front of a Trader Joe’s. Keep in mind that they were perfectly good masks that could have been used by healthcare professionals, and that none of the facemasks covered her nose or mouth.
She also went to social media to expand on her heroic deed, writing, “‘The New AbNormal.’ Abnormal Becoming the New Normal.”
She also added, “If the MASKS work, WHY the 6 feet? If the 6 feet works, WHY the Masks? If BOTH work, WHY the LOCKDOWN? Please share your thoughts about the meaning of these images, what are they representing for you. We would like to hear from all of you. Now more than ever we must express ourselves with the brilliance we were created to be. #artivism #riseup #endthelockdown.”

As expected, many people were not impressed with DaVida’s form of protest. One person wrote, “Is this actually reaching the right people or just causing a scene for grocery store workers who have enough to deal with?” Another added, “I don’t know who needs to hear this – but automatically doing the opposite of what scientists tell you isn’t ‘thinking for yourself.'” One Facebook user perfectly summed up what many are thinking by post a meme that said, “Being inconvenienced is not the same as being oppressed.”
