Labor Day Cocktails
Ahhhh, Labor Day weekend: the last hurrah of summer! What to drink, what to drink? I asked my intern, Ebony for some adult beverages listeners could enjoy for the last summer soiree. I must admit that these are some delicious low maintenance choice of cocktails.
Blender-free Mango Margarita
• Tequila
• Mango juice
• Lime juice
Tips: Mixing your frozen margaritas in plastic Ziploc bags and tossing them in the freezer is a boss move. It’s a quick, easy cleanup and saves us from breaking out the blender.
The Boilermaker
• Beer
• Whiskey
Tips: 200 years ago, this was the simple signature drink of factory workers just getting off their shift. How very appropriate! Mix your beer with your whiskey or simply sip your shot of whiskey on the side. There’s no wrong way to do it as long as you get a buzz.
Razzamatazz Black Cherry Fizz
• Ramazzotti Amaro
• Black cherry Soda
Tips: A slightly more refined take on rum and coke, this cocktail is apologetically effortless. Just mix nutty Italian Ramazzotti with basic cherry coke.
Lynchburg Lemonade
• Tennessee Whiskey
• Triple Sec
• Lemonade
Tips: Few things are more summery or American than homemade, fresh squeezed Lemonade! Mix it up a pitcher and sip all weekend long. It’s cheerful bright and incredibly easy to drink.
