Covid Safe New Years Eve
A Covid Safe New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Eve is different this year. With the modified stay-at-home order, people need to be home (with some exceptions) by 10 p.m. Unfortunately, many planned events will end long before the stroke of midnight. Most of the popular New Year’s events aren’t taking place this year, but read on for some fun ideas of how to celebrate the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 from the comfort and safety of your own home. Dress up! Just because you are at home celebrating doesn’t mean you can’t dress up. Plus, you can still get great photos at home. Consider creating a great back drop for some festive pics.
Make a festive cocktail. Your New Year’s Eve celebration is only as good as the drink you choose to toast with at midnight. Get creative and be sure to give your cocktail a clever name. Host a video call with friends and family. Zoom calls have become super popular this year, and they’re a great way to gather all your loved ones to ring in the New Year. Make sure to have a virtual toast at midnight too. Watch Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. The in person event is cancelled this year, but they will still be celebrating the day with celebrity guests and music. Don’t miss the ball drop in Times Square at the stroke of midnight.
Order food. Most restaurants will be delivering food so be sure to order a special meal. Also, make a delicious dessert and finger foods to snack on all evening long. Yes, the night will look and feel totally different than the large over the top celebrations we are used too, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make it special.
