Some Sad Facts About Keith Urban We Did Not Know Til Now
We have said it before and will keep saying it. Keith Urban is one of the most talented and one of the sweetest artists in country music, ever. Plus, he smells good! We love the guy. So, it makes us a little sad to think he had a tough childhood.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, “I had to clean out the pigsties and shovel out all the chicken coops. But even after our house burned down and we had to live in our tin tractor shed for 18 months, my older brother Shane and I sleeping in a single bed one one side of a big workbench, my parents on the other, and it looked like a squatter’s residence”. All that for me, while it was tough, makes a great memory.”
I never knew his childhood home burned down and they had to live in a tractor shed. A tractor shed is not much shelter. I love that even though it was an incredibly tough time in his childhood, he still saw the beauty in the time with his family. What a story. And no one in country music deserves success more. When Tanner and I interviewed him summer before last here in Charlotte, he could not have been lovelier. He invited us back to his personal green room, took time to notice the people in the room that were there to help us put the interview and video together (my husband and Tanner’s wife to name a couple) and was very generous with his time.
One of the many artists that we love and wish continued to success for many many years to come:
