Child Life Specialists: Providing Medical Play Items
All departments at Hemby Children’s Hospital are staffed with child life specialists who address the emotional, developmental, and cultural needs of each child and their family.
Child Life specialists help children and their families understand what might happen in an x-ray, during an MRI, or even during a procedure/surgery. Just $50 can provide medical play items child life specialists use, like medical dolls or medical tools specifically designed to help prepare kids for whatever they might be facing medically.
