Garth Brooks Celebrates His Big Day Online With Fans
Garth Brooks spent his 60th birthday last night (2/7) on Studio G on his Facebook page and even opened up a few presents from his wife, Trisha Yearwood.
Trisha did bake her man’s annual favorite: a German Chocolate layer cake and presented it along with a couple of special gifts – a sentimental book of memories compiled by his longtime studio crew, The G-Men…and a special trophy she made for the entertainer known in many circles as the Greatest of All Time.
Garth said when he opened one gift, “What is this? Oh…very sweet. ‘To G, from T. You Know’” he shared, reading the inscription on the trophy that was topped with a goat. He said, “It says ‘You know – that’s all we have to say.’” As Trisha noted off-camera, “Yes – that’s all you have to say.” Brooks then said, “It doesn’t have anything to do with music.”
Garth then took some questions and read some posts from fans on Facebook. He told one, “I wish upon you all the laughter that I’ve gotten to share for the time that I’ve been on this planet. I grew up in a house that was totally insane. Totally nuts. It was a fun, fun house. It was awesome. I’m a lucky man.”
To another, he offered, “Do…things you didn’t think you would do. Just do them. You’re going to love it. You’re going to fall straight on your face, but the great thing about falling on your face is…you just get back up again and you realize nothing can hurt you! You’re all right! You’re going to be okay!”
