Overwhelmed Medical Staff
The million dollar question is, will the nurse burnout an ethical issue? More than ever before we are relying on travel nurses. These healthcare professionals are hired through staffing agencies for short-term contracts, but onboarding is burdensome. Typically travel nurses have wages much higher than permanent staff. While all are licensed, the temporary aspect of their contracts requires time to onboard. It was just a matter of time before nurses started feeling the burn. The North Carolina Nurses Association shows disparities in healthcare professionals. Imagine frustration about workload, the pay and patient aggression has not improved in two years. This conducted from February 1 through February 9 with 229 respondents. Staff shortages, increased responsibilities, governmental regulations, and other job factors have contributed to nurse burnout and overall distress.
