“House Of The Dragon” Criticized For Lack Of Warning Before Birth Scene
According to Deadline, the debut of House of the Dragon left fans triggered after a birthing scene that they were unprepared to see. In the episode King Viserys orders his wife to have a cesarean section while she is still conscious. It results in the death of both the mother and the child.
Director Miguel Sapochnik says he consulted with women before choosing to include the scene, but some think a trigger warning should’ve been included. Doesthedogdie.com creator John Whipple said streaming services should “tailor warnings to each user, possibly recommending what to watch based on a user’s specific triggers.
I would think the warning at the beginning of the show is enough. Plus if you could not predict that that scene was coming, I don’t know what to tell you.
