Florida Georgia Line Say Goodbye To The Fans
On Wednesday night, Florida Georgia Line said goodbye to their fans for (maybe) the last time, as they closed their tour with a show at the Minnesota State Fair. Gossip site TMZ has a video of Tyler Hubbard addressing the audience, followed by the duo’s last moments on stage.
“You’ve enabled us to chase this crazy dream, writing songs and playing shows, and hoping somebody would show up and listen. So thank you, guys. It really, really means the world to us.” Hubbard said to the fans. “We spent a lot of this afternoon thinking about the last ten years, and what this night means to us as we close an incredible, incredible chapter for us. It’s exciting to us to look at what’s ahead, see what’s next. The next chapter ahead’s very exciting, but we want to celebrate this chapter with you guys.” He then led the fans through the chorus of “H.O.L.Y.” The video then cuts to the final moments of the show where Hubbard and Brian Kelley embrace warmly.
It’s worth mentioning, of course, that Hubbard told People that “I think ‘taking a break’ is the proper term, as opposed to breaking up,” in regards to their future together. Kelley said “We’re not going our separate ways. We’re taking a break from recording our music. We’re being artists. We love creating. And so a couple of years back, we started writing without each other and trying different writers, and now we’re both doing that with our music.”
As far back as January of 2021, there
have been rumors that the duo would go their separate ways. Kelley and Hubbard’s differing political beliefs have come between them, and many fans are aware of this. And they’ve been working on separate projects for a while. In March of 2021, Kelley announced that he was starting a record label. Meanwhile, in May of this year, Hubbard signed a solo record deal with EMI Nashville.
