Jordan Davis Announces Full Album Fresh Off His CMA Win
One week after winning his first CMA Award (for Song of the Year, “Duy Dirt”), Jordan Davis announced a new full-length album, Bluebird Days. The album will be available everywhere on February 17, 2023, and will include the award-winning song.
“Buy Dirt” was co-written by Jordan, his brother Jacob, Matt Jenkins, and Josh Jenkins. He is currently also nominated for Favorite Country Song at the 2022 American Music Awards, airing November 20 on ABC.
Backstage at the CMA Awards last week (11/9) after his win, Jordan discussed moving to Nashville with his brother. “We both moved to town to write songs and just try to make a living doing that. As special as this night is, and it truly is, being in that living room of a cabin, the second ‘Buy Dirt’ was said, and the second that melody fell out and the chorus came out … We’ve all been able to witness this song from the birth of it. To think that this came out of a cabin in Murfreesboro at 9 a.m. after a quick Bible study is crazy. That is just how special and how unreal music is and how grateful I am to get to wake up every day and write songs.”
In a press release, Davis discussed the new project. “It’s been an evolution, and not just from a songwriting standpoint. Everything matches the song…letting the song be a song and letting the lyrics lead it. Nothing feels forced. To me, it’s an album expressing exactly where I’m at right now.”
In addition to “Buy Dirt,” Bluebird Days will feature several recently released tracks, including “Next Thing You Know,” “Midnight Crisis” featuring Danielle Bradbery, “Part of It,” and his current single, “What My World Spins Around,” which has amassed more than 145 million streams since its release this Summer. Written by Davis, Matt Dragstrem, and Ryan Hurd, Jordan will perform the song at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC (11/24) and during his headlining performance at Canada’s upcoming CFL Grey Cup Halftime Show (11/20).
Jordan spent much of 2022 in a direct support slot on tour with Luke Combs and will continue to play shows with Combs through December.
