Luke Bryan Looks For Down Time in ‘Rough Year’
Luke Bryan told ET Online before his fan club party during CMA Fest in Nashville last weekend that with all that’s going on in his career these days with touring, American Idol, and playing a Las Vegas Residency, he hasn’t been too good at balance this year.
He said, “I’m not really balancing it that well this year, but you know my wife, I’m like, ‘Baby, this is a rough year. Let’s just get through it, and then we’ll find a boat and go to the Caribbean or something.”
In the same interview, Bryan said he plans to be “real active” in his career next year. He said, “I love to get out there and work,” but he says he will slow things down a bit.
When he gets some time off this year, he likes to spend it with his sons Bo and Tate, fishing and hitting baseballs. He said, “They’re playing travel baseball. You just try to make your time with them at home really, really count.”

In 2021, Bryan told People magazine that his sons had become his buddies. He noted, “As they grow older, it’s easier to let them tag along. They become little men, and they become functional little microcosms of me. Their personalities are really different.”
He added, “They become your buddies. I mean, they’re still your kids, you still have to do the discipline, and you still have to teach them the right and wrongs of life, but they really morph into your buddies. I mean, it’s like the sweet spot of being a dad right now, and you can let them tag along.”
