New Study Says Drinking Espresso Helps Prevent Alzheimer’s
Catherine and I both lost our dads to this disease, we know the nightmare of losing someone to the “long goodbye”. Now there is more hope that this nightmare may be preventable. A new study says drinking espresso helps prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
According to the Mirror, a study has found that drinking espresso, even in small amounts could help prevent the disease that has taken the lives of so many precious people. Here is how it works according to the study. It reveals that as the concentration of caffeine, genistein or the complete espresso extract increased, tau protein fibrils were shorter and didn’t form larger sheets. This finding indicates that the progress toward Alzheimer’s might be halted or certainly slowed.
Sadly there is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease but this finding gives hope to give a better and longer quality of life for those with the disease. The field has had several exciting breakthroughs in the last few years. Those breakthroughs include identifying easier and cheaper ways to diagnose Alzheimer’s to better understand how people with the disease might require a variety of interventions.
