Blake Shelton Plays Orlando Ole Red To Packed Crowd
Blake Shelton was in Nashville on Thursday night (9/28) for the first annual People's Choice Country Awards, where he paid tribute to his friend Toby Keith. He also won an award for his social media presence, “The Social Country Star of 2023.”
After the show, Blake was off to play a show at the Orlando location of his Ole Red franchise. Shelton performed in front of a packed house and played a one-hour set that included hits like “God’s Country” and “Happy Anywhere,” ending with fan favorite “Boys’ Round Here.” He said on stage, “We wanted to come here and have fun with you guys and say thank you for supporting Ole Red Orlando. This is such a fun place!”
NBC’s The Voice season 22 winner, Bryce Leatherwood, opened the evening. The “Team Blake” alum has been a regular guest at Blake’s Ole Red venues. He recently sold out his four-show residency at Ole Red Tishomingo in Oklahoma and his Ole Red Gatlinburg and Ole Red Orlando shows.
Leatherwood said of his experience working with Blake, “Working with Blake has been an incredible experience. We share a love for pure country music, and his Ole Red bars have treated me so well and reflect his love for a great drink or two.”

Last week, the country superstar and his buddy Carson Daly celebrated the announcement of the return of their game show, Barmageddon, where celebrity friends compete in the ultimate bar game showdown set at his Ole Red Nashville location.
Shelton hasn’t been hurting for money for many years as he started to make his mark in Nashville in the early 2000s with hit songs, which led to tours and, eventually, awards. Then, in 2011, he became a TV star on NBC’s The Voice, and money was never an issue after that. However, not long ago, Blake told me in an interview that he actually misses the days when his pockets were not so full of cash.
Shelton said, “All of it I miss, you know, from back in the day when you struggled. It’s funny. Those are the memories that you cherish the most. Nobody talks about the great opportunities. They talk about the time they couldn’t afford to get gas in their car and something they had to do to get by, you know?”
He adds, “‘Cause those are the times that build character, I think, well, they were for me.”
