These 3 South Carolina Cities Are Among The Worst COVID Hotspots In South Carolina

Bad news for the Palmetto State especially right here at the holidays. These three South Carolina cities are among the worst COVID hotspots in South Carolina. This is according to a White House COVID-19 task force report.

Two cities in upstate South Carolina and one in the Pee Dee area were identified as showing record highs in the past two weeks. Hospitalizations are soaring at a record rate according to the report in thestate.com. Greenville had the highest number of COVID-19 cases per capita.  They gauged the number of cases per capita of all mid-sized cities in the United States. The report based mid-sized cities as having a population of 250,000 to 1 million.

Spartanburg, South Carolina is also suffering. It did rank ninth out of 10 cities in the mid-size category. Spartanburg marked 2,155 new cases or 674 per 100,000.  That is an increase of 31,000 over the previous week.

In the smaller cities in South Carolina, Florence ranked fifth. They consider small cities those with a population between 50,000 and 250,000. On November 17th, South Carolina health officials reported 4,986 new cases of coronavirus according to our source, The State.   Nearly 2,400 South Carolina residents are currently in the hospital with COVID according to a White House COVID-19 task force report. These three South Carolina cities are among the worst COVID hotspots in South Carolina.

Charlotte, North Carolina makes the list for large cities. According to thestate.com
