Carrie Underwood: Watch Her High Flying ‘Ghost Story’ CMT Performance
Last night’s CMT Awards was a pretty chill affair, and it let the music do the talking for the most part. But one thing that fans were talking about a lot was Carrie Underwood’s performance of her new single, “Ghost Story,” which Carrie has said is “a different take on a revenge song.” The song was co-written by producer David Garcia with Hillary Lindsay and Josh Kear (Kear also co-wrote “Before He Cheats”).
She performed the song at the Grammys as well, but this was a bit different: last night’s performance was pre-taped from her Resorts World Las Vegas residency show “Reflections.” So we saw her in theatrical makeup and watched her incorporate corde lisse, a form of aerial acrobatics that pop singer Pink has also used in her shows.
