Kelsea Ballerini Focuses On Mental Health With Charitable Fund
Kelsea Ballerini has started a charitable fund called Feel Your Way Through, focusing on mental health. With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, Kelsea posted a video to Instagram encouraging fans to focus on their mental health.
Kelsea said in the video in part, “If you’re anything like me, growing up, mental health was just not something that was casually talked about, and that takes a lot of communication and community and work to undo that stigma and to normalize mental health and to give a name to feelings and experiences that you’ve had throughout your life.”
She continued, “I’ve been privileged and lucky in my life, which I have really shared more over the last few years. I’ve been lucky and privileged to have access to the tools that I’ve needed to heal. So, I started the ‘Feel Your Way Through Fund,’ and basically it is a charitable fund that at the end of every year I will donate all the money to different charities and foundations that I’ve researched.”
At the end of the video, Ballerini noted, “If you can’t donate, just check on a friend, check on yourself, and if you personally are going through something right now, I just want to tell you that you are perfect and you are not alone. Whatever it is, you will get through it and learn more about yourself from it, and I am just sending you love.”
Many of her country music friends responded to the post, including Tyler Hubbard, who wrote, “Well said, my friend.” Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild wrote, “So good!! Love you.”
Chelsea captioned the post, “mental health action day.”
Ballerini’s website says of her new fund, “The Feel Your Way Through Charitable Fund focuses on raising money for non-profits centered around mental health. Therapy, anxiety, and trauma all being prominent topics discussed in the book “Feel Your Way Through,” it is important to Kelsea to lessen the stigma around the conversation of mental health and, more so, find ways to get people the tools they need to get the help they may not have access to currently.”
They added, “For 2021 and 2022, all funds raised will go to support The Trevor Project, Porter’s Call, and The Loveland Foundation.”
