Jeopardy Will Be Making Some Temporary Changes Next Season
ABC News 7 says Jeopardy will be different next season. The writer strike has made the production team change things around. This should be interesting.
Apparently “Jeopardy!” will be reusing old questions and contestants next season because of the writers’ strike.
Showrunner Michael Davies says, “The questions for the upcoming season will be a combination of unused, already-written material from before the strike and material that is being redeployed from multiple seasons.”
There will NOT be any new contestants on season 40 because producers believe it would be unfair for them to compete on the show with non-original material. They will instead use “second-chance contestants” from seasons 37 and 38.
I would think they would have plenty of questions to choose from considering they have been on for an eternity. Although some of the questions involve current news. The basic questions should be no problem to reuse.
Producer Sarah Foss revealed some of the changes that will be taking place when the show returns this fall.
This season will kick off with a “second chance” tournament with players from season 37 who did not win in their initial appearance. Those winners will advance to a wildcard competition with season 38 Second Chance contestants.
Foss said, “This is our chance to open it up to a select number of players from Season 37 and Season 38 who just never thought they were gonna get that call back on the Alex Trebek stage, players that won at least one game but didn’t qualify for the Tournament of Champions”
“So really we’re just trying to find these great contestants from recent years who didn’t think they would get another opportunity, allowing them to come back and providing some great games for those of you that are looking forward to the launch of the season.”
It doesn’t matter how many times they repeat a question, chance are I would still get it wrong.
