Prison Inmate Captured Just 30 Minutes After Escaping From This North Carolina Facility
Not so fast. An inmate thought he would let himself out a little early on Saturday from the Rutherford County Jail in Spindale, North Carolina. But he was escorted back to the facility in record time. The inmate was captured just 30 minutes after escaping from this North Carolina facility.
Deputies were alerted on November 25. According to our source, WLOS in Asheville, the Spindale Police Department was also dispatched along with the Forest City Police Department and the North Carolina Highway Patrol. They were all in pursuit of the escaped inmate.
According to the television station,inmate Corey Lamont McMillian had escaped by climbing the fence. Authorities knew he was last seen close to the prison along Ledbetter Road according to WLOS. The search was on but not for long. It all wrapped up in record time. The Sheriff’s office said in a social media post, “Due to the excellent working relationship between agencies as well as the ability of law enforcement to work at their best under pressure McMillian was returned to custody within 30 minutes of his escape,”.
