Loretta Lynn Song WOWS On “The Voice”
We REALLY like “The Voice.” Wait, let me revise that. We REALLY like the first few weeks of “The Voice.” The “blind auditions,” where the coaches begin with their backs to the performers and only turn if they are enticed by singing talent, is still the best.
Last night I was only half-paying attention when I heard “Hannah Kay from Magnolia, Texas.” Magnolia is about 15 minutes from the house I grew up in, so I was all in.

How refreshing was this? A teenage girl singing Loretta Lynn? “Coal Miner’s Daughter” in 2019? Why not?
I really think that if someone young and attractive (like Hannah) sang traditional Country Music, and it was promoted smartly and correctly, she has a chance to take hold.
Obviously Blake Shelton thinks so too as he wooed Hannah onto his team.
Let’s see what happens next.
