A New Happy Place
There are two places for me that when I enter their city limits, all stress in my life goes away. One is Hilton Head. And the other is The Village of Pinehurst.
I know. I know. “Charlie, you’re a golf-a-holic, BIG SURPRISE!”
No, it’s much more than that. The Village of Pinehurst is populated by people who just live their lives in laid-back mode. Everyone down there is so relaxed, and so happy to see you. Every place you go, people greet you with a smile and for me, it’s like my body exhales every time.
The latest source of joy for me in the Sandhills is what has recently opened in the old steam plant. It was used to provide power for the Village at its inception in 1895. I have driven by the overgrown and abandoned-what looked like the ruins of the structure-countless times and always wondered what it was.
What it is NOW, is the premier place to hang, have great food, listen to live music, have some craft beer, chill, etc.
