The End Of “Arrow” Is The End Of An Era
Eight years ago, my son was nine and superhero crazy (okay, so his father is/was too, so he came by it naturally!). That fall The CW premiered a brand new take on the character of “Green Arrow,” simply called, “Arrow.”
It starred a relatively unknown actor named Stephen Amell, who was everything we wanted him to be: dark, mysterious, and dangerous. However, he also had a heart.
“Arrow” became must see TV for my son and I for the first 4-5 years of the show. Then, he got older…and busier with other activities…and there wasn’t much time to watch “Arrow” with me anymore.
So we kinda let it go.
Yesterday, it was announced that the show would end after 10 episodes next fall. This news was kinda like getting a small arrow to the heart for me.
Even though we’d quit watching religiously long ago, “Arrow” still represents a special time for me with my son. I will miss the show-scratch that. I will miss the time I spent with my little boy with the show.
The end of an era.
Stephen Amell posted this heartfelt video for fans yesterday.
