The Bionic Man Returns (Only He’s More Expensive)
On my “Mt. Rushmore of Men” from my childhood are the following, in no particular order: Adam West (“Batman”), Ric Flair, Burt Reynolds (“The Bandit”), and Lee Majors (“The Six Million Dollar Man”)
As a boy, there was nothing more exciting to me than Sunday nights when THIS would come on my TV screen
A few years ago it was announced that they were updating the story for inflation <g>, but essentially the story of “Col. Steve Austin” would be retold with “The Six Billion Dollar Man” starring Mark Wahlberg.
In fact, here’s what he had to say at a convention in 2017, “We finally got the script for The Six Billion Dollar Man. Now that’s not your typical superhero because I will not put on a cape nor a spandex outfit, but the script is amazing. We’ve been developing it for quite some time and finally got it to where we want to go shoot the movie, so hopefully we will shoot in the fall.”
I was fired up.
Then…nothing.
NOW, according to a new report from Variety, Travis Knight (Director of “Bumblebee”) has signed on to direct the upcoming Warner Bros. film adaptation. And yes, Mark Wahlberg is still on-board.
Somewhere my inner 8-year-old is jumping up and down.
