Professor McConaughey?
Okay, I will admit that I approach this from the perspective of a Baylor University alum (by nature, ANTI-University of Texas), and graduate of the Castellaw Communications Building.
When I was in college, our school president’s son, Kevin Reynolds, came to speak to us. His name might not ring a bell, but his work might. He was the second unit director on the Oscar-award winning “Dances With Wolves,” and directed “Waterworld.” He was/is a big time movie director.
My next door neighbor in the dorm, Derek Haas, is the chief writer/producer/co-creator of all the “Chicago” shows on NBC, and has written numerous films including “Wanted,” starring Angelina Jolie. He was/is a big time Hollywood mogul.
(Sigh) Neither is Oscar-award winning actor, Matthew McConaughey.
For communications students at UT this fall, they welcome a new, and rather famous professor who, apparently, shows up to class with a fanny pack and his hat on backwards.
In recognition of his professional pedigree and personal investment in student success, Matthew McConaughey has been appointed a #TEXASMoody professor of practice. @McConaughey will continue to teach the #UTScriptoScreen class in @UTRTF. pic.twitter.com/9goKkc6U0A

No secret of McConaughey’s love of his alma mater (’93), and how cool for aspiring tv/film students to learn from someone of his stature in the business? That being said, and even if we’re fraternity brothers (Delta Tau Delta), I jealously hope this is a failure. <g>
