ESPN’s “Beer Money Guy” Makes $3 Million Donation

It all got started innocently enough. Last month, Carson King went to the set of ESPN’s College GameDay with a handwritten sign that read, “Busch Light supply needs replenishing.”
This kind of thing is not uncommon. If you ever watch ESPN College GameDay, you’ll be more than amused just reading all the signs in the crowd.
Anway, he also had his Venmo account listed on the sign. And it went viral after being spotted on TV.
Long story short, more than 35,000 people contributed to his account. Well, after realizing he’d more than be able to replenish his supply, Carson announced he was going to turn his beer money into a donation to University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital (he’s a student at the University of Iowa).
Then, Venmo and Busch decided to match the funds raised.
Carson raised $3 million.
How amazing is this?! I don’t think “beer money” ever did this much good.
