Antonio Banderas Honored By His Famous Stepdaughter
Legendary Spanish actor, Antonio Banderas is receiving critical praise (and some Oscar talk) for his work in the new film, “Pain and Glory.”
However, the tribute paid to him over the weekend from a family member probably means the most.
I knew that Antonio was married for 20+ years to actress Melanie Griffith. I knew that Melanie Griffith’s daughter is Dakota Johnson of the “50 Shades…” movies.
I guess I just didn’t think about the math.
Dakota was six years old when her mother and Banderas married. He’s not just her stepfather, but a beloved part of her life as evidenced by the tribute she paid to him while presenting him an award this weekend.

I am very moved by this. I’ve always said it must be hard to be a father to another man’s children. Apparently, Banderas embraced this role and challenge.
Even though, he and Melanie Griffith are no longer together, it’s obvious this bond remains.
And that’s not a good thing (to me), it’s a great thing.
