Netflix Announces Divorce Date With “Friends”
I remember several years ago when our son kept going on and on about the show “How I Met Your Mother.” He was binge-ing it on Netflix.
I sat down with him, watched one episode and said, “Well, if I’m the creators of ‘Friends’, I’m suing these people.”
He says, “What’s ‘Friends’?”
And with that I created a monster. No one has EVER binge-ed a show like he did that one. Even today, on a rainy day he’s likely to cut on Netflix and have this echoing thru the house.
Well, last year it was announced that the show, the most streamed thing on Netflix, was leaving the streaming service. Originally, it was set to leave on January 1, 2019.
Then Netflix paid $80 BILLION to rent one more year.
Now, there’s no stopping it…the divorce is official January 1, 2020. The official date announcement was made yesterday on the streamer’s web page.
So, if you enjoy binge-watching “Friends,” you’ve got less than a month.
However, this doesn’t mean you won’t be able to watch Ross, Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, and Joey anymore. The show will be on the HBO Max streaming service starting May 2020.
