I love language. Specifically, I’ve always been fascinated with how our language sounds COMPLETELY different depending on what part of the country you are in.
Shoot, even in the South…the Alabama accent is much different from the Georgia accent-which is different still from the North Carolina accent trust me, lived in all three places).
And NOTHING can ever prepare you for the New York/New Jersey or Boston accents the first time you hear them. I can remember as a small boy hearing famous speeches by John F. Kennedy (Boston/Massachusetts) and wondering, “What’s wrong with him?” <g>
That’s why this commerical for Hyundai, scheduled to air during the Super Bowl is so great! “Smart Park,” we’re led to discover is actually “Smaht Pahk.”
