THOUSANDS In Meck County Given False Positive Coronavirus Test Results
Of the many frustrating things that have come out about the Coronavirus and that I have issue with is this magic word: testing.
On a personal note, I’m REALLY tired of the media and politicians treating a “positive” test as if its a death sentence-UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. The unnecessary panic they’ve chosen to inflict on the regular is wrong. More than that though, I cannot tell you how many people I’ve come across whose tests have been botched and they’ve been told they tested positive when they did not.
It is an occurrence that HAS NOT been widely reported by the media. I could speculate as to why, but I’ll give them a pass here as they’ve FINALLY said something.
More than 6,700 individuals in Mecklenburg County were informed Friday by text sent from Mecklenburg County Health Department that they tested positive for COVID-19; and over 500 people were told through a county email that they were also infected with the novel coronavirus. BUT WAIT, those results were due to a technical error by Health Space, a company the county utilizes for contact tracing.
It’s Thursday. That means a press conference from Governor Cooper and Dr. Mandy Cohen. Anyone want to take bets as to whether or not this will be mentioned? Anyone want to take bets as to whether or not we are told we need to be more diligent in getting tested?
I’ll put all my money on the latter and NONE on the former.
Sorry, I’ve just become wayyyy too fed up with all of this and wayyy too cynical when it comes to the MO and motivations when it comes to the government officials in charge in our state.
