Former Bond Girl And Charlie’s Angel Passes Away
It’s been a bad few days for TV beauties of my youth.
At the end of last week, complications from Covid-19 took the life of “Gilligan’s Island” star, Dawn Wells. She was, of course “Mary Ann” and along with co-star Tina Louise’s “Ginger” was the subject of the decades old debate: “Mary Ann or Ginger.”
She was 82. Very sad.
Then last night as I was watching Sunday Night Football, an alert came on to my phone regarding Tanya Roberts. You may not immediately recognize the name, but you do know her work.
She was the last “Charlie’s Angel” to be added to the cast (joining Cheryl Ladd and Jacklyn Smith) before the TV show’s cancellation.
She then starred in one of the classic “B” movies of the 1980s, the female, Tarzan-like, “Sheena”
Later, she was Roger Moore’s final “Bond Girl,” in 1986’s “A View To A Kill.”
And more recently, Tanya Roberts was “Donna’s” mom, “Midge,” on “That 70s Show.”
Her representative told TMZ, she was on a walk with her dog’s on Christmas Eve and when she returned home she collapsed. She was taken to the hospital and put on a ventilator but never got better. Reportedly, it was NOT COVID related.
Tanya Roberts gone way too soon at age 65.
