Don’t Judge A Song By Its Title
I made that mistake this morning, and I shouldn’t have based on the two artists involved. Look in my defense when you see a song title like “Met Him In A Motel Room” and first lyrics you hear are:
“She met him in a motel room / in a shady part of town / with a set of satin sheet pulled back / and the window shades pulled down”
What DO YOU think the song is about?
IKR?
But then you have to remember who we’re talking about here. There is no greater man of faith than Rory Feek. In the wake of the passing of his wife Joey (yes, this is Rory from “Joey & Rory”) five years ago from cancer, he’s been a model of faith for every man who’s ever lived and loved.

And then there’s Trisha Yearwood. She’s never been shy about the sharing of her faith.
This song is not one of illicit relationships in tawdry places, no…it’s a song of redemptive Grace.
The woman in the song climbs into bed with the plan of ending her life with sleeping pills, yet when she goes for a paper and pen to leave a suicide note, she finds a red Bible in the drawer.
I don’t know if I’ve ever been more happy to be more wrong about a song.
This is what I needed heading into the weekend.
