Married 91 Years And STILL In Love (AND ALIVE!)
A couple of weeks ago, Debbie and I celebrated being married for 28 years. I said it then, and I mean it, it really does feel like yesterday. That being said, when you step back and look at it…28 years is a long time. At least it seemed like a long time to be married until I came across the story of Zechariah and Shama’a. All Debbie and I have to do is remained together and alive for the next 63 years and we tie them!
Okay, if you’re trying to do the math (I know I was), here’s how it goes. These two crazy kids were Jewish orphans in Yemen. Back in the day, they tended to marry young to avoid being wed outside of their faith and culture (at least I hope it was back in the day and not today). They were just 10 and 12 at the time. Shama’a and Zechariah have 11 children and have 64 grand and great-grand children.
