I remember several years ago when a co-worker had a traditional phone handset attachment on his iPhone. I could not stop laughing. Here we had the latest communication technology and yet paying money to drag it back to the 1950s. I’m not laughing anymore. Well, actually I’m laughing at something funnier. Justine Haupt is a space engineer with an obvious sense of ironic humor. A few years ago, she set out to combine classic phone design and modern tech. And yup, her “Frankenstein” is a cell phone with a rotary dial. And soon, you’ll be able to purchase one for yourself. Haupt’s “Un-Smartphone” (great name) is intended as a tack from the “finicky, annoying, touchscreen world of hyperconnected people using phones they have no control over or understanding of.” In other words, my parents will love it! <g> And you just know that a Kardashian, Hadid, or some other influencer will be spotted with one and they will become all the rage.
