Of the many blessings in my life, I consider this one to be near the top: I am the father of a son, only. Now, don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the notion of daughters. I would have been more than ecstatic to have one. In fact, this summer our son’s girlfriend lived with us while she worked in the area, so I got to dip my toe in the “girl dad” pool. However, with daughters come concerns that a father does not have with sons. Let me see, how can I paraphrase this crass altruism…okay, here goes. With boys, I only have to worry about one boy. With girls, I have to worry about every boy. I tried. Look, if you know, you know. Anyway, one dad isn’t taking any chances and is trying to head off his fears and anxieties at the pass.
