Hey Grooms, Stop Smearing Your Bride’s Face With Cake
We were JUST talking about this on air a couple of months. There are starting to be some wayyy too predictable and cringeworthy moments happening at weddings. First off, ENOUGH with the choreographed dance routines just for the sake of having something ridiculous to post on your social media. There’s no need to court blowing out an ACL or worse for your fifteen seconds of TikTok glory. Wait, I’m not off my soapbox yet. The other wedding “tradition” that now needs to go is smearing cake all over the face of your groom OR ESPECIALLY, your bride.
Seriously, what was this dude possibly thinking? He literally pounces on her, smears the cake on her face and pushes her to the ground. When I was first watching this, I was stunned she didn’t have a father, brother, uncle, etc., that didn’t come out of nowhere to swoop in and save the day by kicking this guy in the arse. I guess you can argue that eventually the groom comes to his senses as he does help his bride back to her feet. But wait, if you thought there might be an ounce of chivalry somewhere in his bones, he then walks away. Thankfully, a wedding guest comes to the rescue with a napkin to help wipe some of the cake off the beautiful, white, wedding dress (that you KNOW is her dream dress and wasn’t cheap). The final head-scratcher of the incident is that it was the bride who posted this video to her social media declaring it was “all in good fun.” If that’s “good fun,” I sure don’t want to be around for their first fight!
