Is North Carolina’s Favorite Country Artist Your Favorite?

Music is always changing and new artists are always becoming the next sensation. This is true in pop music, and while it happens at a slower pace, in country music as well. Just a few short years ago you didn’t get any bigger than Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean. Luke still remains one of my all-time favorite artists in any genre. Yes, plenty of artists have longevity look at artists like Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks. Shania Twain is currently on a sold-out tour, and artists like Bryan and Aldean still play to capacity crowds nightly. But we are witnessing a new generation. It is exciting, and it’s those artists that are quickly becoming North Carolina’s favorite country artist.

This list was sent to us by our friends at BetCarolina.com They used Google Analytics data to determine the most popular artists. And the top two are certainly the biggest names in the genre today.   We start out at 4th as there is a three-way tie for 4th place. First up, the newest female country daring Lainey Wilson. Whether it is her distinct voice, meaningful lyrics, or feel-good style that you love, chances are you do love her. And of course, we can’t forget her role on Yellowstone that helped catapult this dynamic, talented performer to the top of the charts. Is there anything Lainey Wilson can’t do? Probably not!

• 4. Tyler Childers (TIE)

  Also in 4th place is singer-songwriter Tyler Childers. Childers first stepped on the scene in 2017 and has been gaining fans and momentum ever since. His music is traditional county leaning with influences of bluegrass and rock. Fans across the country love the budding star, so it makes perfect sense that North Carolina loves him as well.

  Rounding out the three-way tie for 4th place is Chris Stapleton. Stapelton has become a country award show favorite and his sultry voice and knack for songwriting have catapulted this once under-the-radar (for many years) artist to one of the hottest tickets in country music today.
• 3. Zach Bryan

  The bronze medal goes to newcomer Zach Bryan. The Oklahoma native, Navy veteran has been all over country radio with his hit Something In The Orange. But while it may be his first mainstream hit, fans have been loving Bryan since his debut album in 2019.

• 1. Morgan Wallen

  Number 1 if you’re guessing, is pretty obvious at this point. This list couldn’t exist without including Morgan Wallen, who takes the title of North Carolina’s favorite country artist. And he’s this North Carolina resident’s favorite at the current moment as well. Wallen gained interest with The Way I Talk, secured his first big hit with FCL collaboration Up Down, and Whisky Glasses was the start of domination. Dangerous the Double Album will go down as one of the best country albums of the 2020’s, and the follow up One Thing At A Time picked up right where he left off- on top of the world.
