Carowinds’ Parent Company Merging With Six Flags For Charlotte Headquarters
Things are changing in the amusement park business in the Queen City. Carowinds’ parent company is merging with Six Flags for Charlotte headquarters.
Park officials said in a press release the combined company with benefit from the expansion of 42 parks in all across 17 states. The expansion also includes properties in Mexico and Canada. According to Channel 9 in Charlotte, “Our merger with Six Flags will bring together two of North America’s iconic amusement park companies to establish a highly diversified footprint and a more robust operating model to enhance park offerings and performance,” This quote from Richard Zimmerman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cedar Fair.
