A South Carolina Collegiate Bass fisherman dies after a boat crash. Very Sad news from Lake Murray in South Carolina. Johnathan Brian was only 21 years old and a student at Western Kentucky University. He was an occupant of the boat that crashed in late January. He passed away early Tuesday morning.
Brian was a competitive fisherman on his college team. According to our source, WBTV.com, the crash happened the day before he was going to compete in the Lake Murray Bassmaster College Fishing Tournament. Brian’s fishing partner was also injured in the accident. The South Carolina Department of Natural resources along with local authorities are investigating the incident.
WKU’s Public Information Officer says in a press release published by Channel 3, “This week, we lost a valuable member of the WKU family. Our thoughts are with Johnathan Brian’s family, loved ones and friends, and we extend our deepest condolences to them,” Dr Jace Lux goes on to say, “His fishing partner was also injured in the accident, and we wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to his return to campus.”
