North Carolina Is Getting Another Popular Walk-Up Cheesesteak Spot
North Carolina is getting another popular walk-up cheesesteak spot. And the good news is it is in the Charlotte area where I work. I’m a guy that loves a good cheesesteak. And I like an easy access. This is what we know so far.
According to our source, The Charlotte Observer, Cheat’s Cheesesteaks first arrived in Charlotte back in 2020. It brought a taste of Philly to the Queen City. Now there will be another location. The second spot will be in South End and we should see it by summertime. Not only will there be a brand new location but also added menu items.
Ryan Hart is operating partner and creative director for 1957 Hospitality Group. They own Cheat’s. He tells the Charlotte Observer, “When we opened Cheat’s, we realized we had a special restaurant that served guests from all walks of life”. He goes on to a quote directly from the Charlotte Observer, “We wanted to create a culture in Charlotte where you could bring your whole family”.
It turns out, their intention was to be in South End all along. And the name comes because the intent was to put the walk-up was right on the light rail. Thus, runner’s could have a “cheat” of a delicious Philly cheesesteak. Ah, we get it now!
The new location will be located at 2127 Hawkins street in South End. And it will be twice the size of the current location. North Carolina is getting another popular walk-up cheesesteak spot.
