This North Carolina airport is home to three rat infested restaurants. Is the word infestation overly dramatic? If you ask me one rat spotted in a restaurant is one too many. Three restaurants at Charlotte Douglas International reportedly have a rodent problem.
According to our source, wsoctv.com, one eatery has already been shut down by the health department. Also, officials say that action is being taken to correct the problem. And the television station says investigators shut down 1897 Market. The restaurant is back open now after a deep cleaning and pest control measures were taken. I bet that place is pristine now.
Two other restaurants at Charlotte Douglas International reportedly had a “slight rodent problem”. Great American Bagel and Brookwood Farms were reportedly given a 30 day intent to suspect by the health department. This North Carolina airport is home to three rat infested restaurants.
One flyer is quoted by wsoctv.com saying,“I think it’s probably broader and I would have to have much more detail about the clean-up process,”, Debbie Haughnet says it might take her a minute or two to revisit any of the three rat effected restaurants. Mecklenburg County Health Officials say they will continue to monitor the rat situation. To learn more, get all the details from our source, wsoctv.com right here.
Sadly, Charlotte is “rattier” than it used to be. According to pest control company Orkin, Charlotte is the 38th rattiest city in the country. We are reportedly at the tail end of rat season. The pest control experts reveal rats enter homes or businesses the most frequently between October and February. They are looking for food, water and shelter. Orkin officials say in a press release, “Rodent infestations are among the top pest issues of the fall and winter seasons”.
Maybe now that spring is right around the corner they will be more comfortable outside. For more information about the rattiest cities in the nation, get details from our source wsoctv.com right here.
Charlotte Douglas International Airport Is The 7th Busiest In The World New Data Shows
Yes, you read that correctly. New data shows that Charlotte Douglas International Airport is the 7th busiest airport, not in the US but worldwide. This data comes from Airports Council International who recently released their yearly rankings. This is based on data from 2022. They actually rank the busiest airports based on a few different metrics this includes lists calculated by the following:
- Passengers (total passengers enplaned and deplaned counting passengers in transit one time)
- International Passengers (total international passengers enplaned and deplaned)
- Cargo (loaded and unloaded freight and mail including transit freight)
- International Freight (international freight loaded and unloaded including transit freight)
- Aircraft Movements (landings and takeoffs)
So which one of these did Charlotte Douglas International Airport rank 7th in? The last one – aircraft movements. This is actually down two spots from 2021 when CLT ranked 5th. In 2022 505,589 flights took off or landed in Charlotte. That’s a lot of planes. I was on a few of them but nowhere near that amount! One thing I found interesting about this data is that for both total passengers as well as aircraft movements these lists are very top-heavy with US cities. Atlanta took both of those titles. This confirms that while that drive to Atlanta from Charlotte is terrible, it’s probably better than flying! Does it surprise you that Charlotte Douglas International Airport is the 7th busiest in the world?
