Lincolnton License Plate Agency Closed Next Week
The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles announced the closure for September 19th. Matthew Craig has operated this agency since December 2020. The office closes at 5pm on Thursday. A new agency will reportedly open with a new contractor at a later date according to a press release from the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles.
Folks In Lincolnton Will Have To Go Out Of Town For Awhile
In the meantime, folks In Lincolnton will have to go out of town if they need license plate services. The North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles has license tag offices in Gastonia, Hickory,Mooresville and Conover. Those offices are open Monday through Friday. Currently there are 124 license plate agencies across North Carolina.
According to WCNC in Charlotte, the news comes just a few weeks after the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles announced plans for kiosks in certain grocery stores. WCNC posts:” There are plans to have at least six kiosks at stores in Mecklenburg County. These kiosks allow drivers to renew registrations, pay property taxes and even renew driver’s licenses. The purpose is to give residents access to DMV services without having to visit a DMV in person. “
