Judge Agrees to Release Thief But Only If He Goes To The Bathroom First
A Kenya judge has agreed to let a jewelry thief out on bail under one condition: he has to poop first. This is according to Tuco.
The order was handed down on Thursday at the request of prosecutor Patricia Kirui. Eldoret resident Emmanuel Moyi is the suspect. He is accused of walking into a jewelry store, picking up an expensive gold ring, and swallowing it.
Kirui told the court “Part of the exhibit, which is a gold ring, is an item that he did swallow and which the investigating officer is actually waiting for it to get out of his body. It is the reason we are requesting if the bond terms can be suspended until we get the exhibit.”
The order was issued even though Moyi argued he’d already gone to the restroom, but saw no sign of the ring. So the judge agreed to release the thief. but only if he went to the bathroom again.
He’s expected to report back in a week, Kirui says. If the ring doesn’t turn up, can the court prosecute Moyi?
